Although the device has been caught on camera more times then we can count now — its never been quite caught in quite such detail. Despite it not being the U.S. version, the Milestone 3 — which may or may not come to market as the Droid 3 — has just received a total break down of its screen, specs and even benchmarks courtesy of the folks from XDA.cn and it now we can confirm all those specs that have been rumored in the past.

One feature from the upcoming HTC Sense 3.0 that we’re drooling over is that sweet “panorama” camera setting, with the ability to take sweeping landscape photos in a single shot. Well, if you have an HTC device and are feeling a little adventerous this afternoon, head on over to XDA, where forum member francois.d.dillinger has extracted the camera app from Sense 3.0 and put it into a nice little flashable file. Some caveats: you must be rooted (duh), and you must be running a ROM with Sense framework (such as HTC Sense or MySense). In addition to the panorama setting, you’ll have the option to shoot video in 1080p, though you’ll need the hardware to support it.

I know the Netflix app has been out for all of a few hours, but it looks like that’s all it took for some of the hard-working developers at XDA to port it over to the Droid X, Droid 2, and OG Droid. Keep in mind all these phones are running either a leaked Gingerbread build or a custom ROM running Gingerbread, but it’s still great to know that Netflix is available to more of the masses.

This morning’s Thunderbolt update might have left a lot of rooted users scratching their heads as to whether or not to take the plunge, but fear not: you haven’t been left behind. That rooted update we saw last month over at XDA is the same build number we are seeing OTA today, and brings with it all the benefits and none of the unrooting. Again, we recommend all rooted users steer clear of the update being pushed to your handset and instead grab the rooted version at the source link. There, you’ll find the file and instructions on how to flash it to your Thunderbolt (s-off and through hboot, not recovery), all the while maintaining precious superuser status.

Look out, all you tweakers and overclockers — there’s a new kid on the block who’s likely to take the throne in very short order — the Samsung Galaxy S 2. Right out of the box it’s an awesome performer, chewing through benchmark tests like candy even with less than optimized software on board. We’re hearing from all over about how smooth and quick it is, and everyone seems pretty darn impressed.
