Sales of Apple’s iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G and iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G resumed on Friday after a permanent injunction had gone into effect early Friday morning. ”All iPad and iPhone models will be back on sale through Apple’s online store in Germany shortly” an Apple spokesperson told SlashGear in a statement. “Apple appealed this ruling because Motorola repeatedly refuses to license this patent to Apple on reasonable terms, despite having declared it an industry standard patent seven years ago.” Apple’s iOS devices with embedded 3G were deemed to being infringing on a Motorola patent this past December. A judge ordered an injunction at that time that went into effect on Friday, forcing Apple to remove the infringing devices from its German website. Motorola filed a separate complaint against Apple’s new iPhone 4S last month.

Want an LTE Galaxy Nexus, but don’t want to switch away from Sprint? That’s understandable, we should always stick with the carrier who works best for us. Here’s some (possibly) good news — just a little while after Sprint announced their initial markets for LTE, the above ad for a Sprint LTE Galaxy Nexus appeared on the web, and there’s another version showing a 1.5GHz processor, slightly faster than the 1.2GHz proc in the current versions. We’ve always said that each carrier would likely announce their own version of the GNex, and if this is more than just a mean-spirited prank we just may hear a bit more at CES come next week. Or not — CTIA often is Sprint’s big show. In the meantime, feel free to speculate and/or dance with joy.

Sharing is caring. We’ve all heard that phrase before, and I’ll wager that most of the time we all agree. I think at heart everyone wants to be a helpful member of society, both online and off. If I’m right, there’s an easy way we can make an impact — helping our fellow Android enthusiasts.

Verizon Wireless on Friday announced that it is canceling plans to charge a $2 convenience fee to customers making one-time bill payments online or over the phone. The carrier announced earlier this week that the new fee would allow it to continue providing subscribers with the option to make one-time payments using its web-based and telephone payment systems. Following a rash of negative press and customer complaints, Verizon confirmed that it will scrap plans to introduce the new fee next month. “At Verizon, we take great care to listen to our customers, Verizon Wireless CEO Dan Mead said in a statement. “Based on their input, we believe the best path forward is to encourage customers to take advantage of the best and most efficient options, eliminating the need to institute the fee at this time.” The carrier’s full press release follows below.
Verizon Wireless will begin to roll out a new convenience fee on January 15th which will add an additional $2.00 fee to customers who make single bill payments online or by telephone. Verizon claims the fee will allow the company to continue to support these payment options, however the fee is waived for those who pay by electronic check or enroll in Verizon’s AutoPay service. Additionally, customers who pay their bills in the store, online through a bank, or physically mail a check to Verizon will be not be charged the new fee. The telephone and online single payment fee will be disclosed up-front and throughout the transaction, Verizon said.

U.S. Consumers spent $35.3 billion during this year’s holiday season, up 15% from the same period last year. Shoppers also spent a total of $2.8 billion during the week ended December 25th, up 16% from the same week in 2010, comScore reported. “Holiday e-commerce spending has remained strong throughout the season, and we have now reached a record $35 billion in U.S. online sales for the season-to-date,” said comScore chairman Gian Fulgoni, noting that the record $1.25 billion spent on Cyber Monday represented the heaviest online spending day for the second straight year. ComScore also said that there were a total of nine days during the holiday season during which consumers spent more than $1 billion. The research firm noticed a spike in digital content and subscription sales on Christmas Day, no doubt as a result of consumers loading up their new tablets, computers and phones with applications. Digital content and subscription purchases typically counted for 2.8% of all e-commerce sales during the holiday season, but that figure jumped to more than 20% on Christmas Day. ComScore’s full press release follows after the break.

Users of Apple’s iPhone smartphones and its iPad line of tablets accounted for 92% of all mobile purchases made thus far in December, a recent study by eCommerce company RichRelevance found. That figure is up from April 2011 when a similar study conducted by the firm found that Apple’s iOS devices accounted for 88% of non-desktop online shopping. Beyond being more frequent shoppers, RichRelevance also found that iOS users are bigger spenders than their Android counterparts — the average purchase made from an iOS device was $123 in December while the average Android-originated mobile purchase amounted to $101. Both iOS users and Android users top those who shop from desktop PCs, as they spent an average of just $87 per order in December according to the company. Overall, RichRelevance found that shopping from mobile devices has doubled from 1.87% of all online shopping to 3.74% over the past nine months.
