These phone names are killing me on the inside, slowly. I’d rather go through the trouble of saying “It’s a HTC, BlackBerry style Android” instead of “It’s the ChaCha.”

Next they are going to start naming phones like: Function, Within, Attain. Oh, wait….

Well, well. What have we here? It’s the long-rumored T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide. And, boy howdy, does that look like a fine piece of smartphone, now that it’s far less blurry than the last time it poked up its head.

If the previously leaked info about the HTC Sensation coming to Canada wasn’t enough of confirmation for you then this information should do the trick. Bell and HTC have both updated their websites with information about the Sensation 4G as it will be called in Canada.

If you haven’t heard by now, one of our favorite features of HTC Sense 3.0 is the lockscreen. In addition to being an easy (and stylish) way to unlock your phone, HTC’s added in some extra functionality. There are four customizable icons on the lockscreen — shortcuts that will take you directly to an app without having to unlock the phone first. Simply slide them down into the unlock ring, and you’re taken to the app.

It’s been a few months since we first handled the Sprint HTC EVO 3D. And at the time, the software was far from finished. But we’re just a mere week or so away from the official public launch of HTC’s first 3D-capable smartphone, and it’s time to give it a thorough what-for.

Sprint’s just let us know that the EVO Shift 4G can now grab its update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread. All you have to do to get it is go to Menu>Settings>System updates>HTC software Update and start the process. In addition to the Gingerbread update, you’ll get improved download management, and fixes media streaming.

That doesn’t necessarily mean it’ll arrive on AT&T but it has the capability to run on their network should it be offered up to them by HTC. If you’re into full QWERTY keyboards and fun little dedicated Facebook buttons then this is the device you’ll want to be adding to your collection. If not, well — you’ll want to be moving on then now, won’t you?
