Finally, have a date for the Sprint Nexus S 4G, folks. You’ve got a couple weeks to go, but it’ll finally be available May 8. For those new to the game, it’s Sprint’s version of the latest “pure Google” phone. No carrier customizations, no bloatware, just pure, unadulterated Android 2.3 Gingerbread on a 4-inch screen powered by a 1GHz Hummingbird processor. Plus you’ve got NFC capability, which is nice.

Styled after such simulation games as the popular “Dope Wars,” “Dog Wars” touts itself as “A GAME THAT WILL NEVER BE IN THE iPHONE APP STORE!!!” in which you “feed, water, train and FIGHT your virtual dog against other player’s.” sic

Here’s the deal regarding online availability of the ASUS EeePad Transformer: Like we told you last week, it’ll be available starting tomorrow at a handful of online retailers. (See the full list here.) And when we say “tomorrow,” we definitely mean April 26, and ASUS confirmed as much, saying the product pages shouldn’t be live before then. A quick reminder on official pricing: $399 for the 16GB version, $499 for the 32GB version, and another $149 for the keyboard dock.

New Moto Droid Pro software update available: ActiveSync, VPN benefit

Set to roll out in phases, a software update for Android’s candy bar with a keyboard, the Motorola Droid Pro, released late this week adds data encryption of contents stored on the microSD card and the phone itself along with a slew of other enhancements.  Amongst the changes,  Exchange ActiveSync received a healthy update to it’s policies, email, and calendar, plus some bug fixes.  IPSec VPN joined forces with Google’s VPN and combined their settings menus.  A proxy server can now be defined within the Wi-Fi settings and Verizon’s marked it with their VCAST app.  Some other minor bugs are squashed with the update as well.  Full release notes after the break.  Twitter

Best Buy pre-sale of the Wi-Fi only HTC Flyer starts April 24

Best Buy has the exclusive launch of the WiFi only, 7-inch HTC Flyer tablet covered, and now they’ve announced their pre-sale date as being April 24. If you simply must have the HTC Sense-loving, 1.5GHz-powered Flyer, then you’ll want to hit up Best Buy on that date and let them know you are more then willing to give them $499 in exchange for one. Personally, we’re still wishing it was being launched with Honeycomb but some of the HTC added enhancements such as the built in Scribe technology do counter that a little. Anybody planning on a pre-sale order? Best Buy
