Remember back a few months when a lot of Droid Incredible users were so stoked to see a Gingerbread OTA arrive on their device? We remember it as well but we also remember that build was rather buggy for some while being perfectly fine for others. However, the powers that be thought it best to pull it and until now — there has been no word of its return. But, finally — a new build — Build number 4.08.605.2 is pushing out from Verizon so for those of you who haven’t already gone ahead and got Gingerbread through other methods, go ahead and hit that update button. You should find it there waiting for you.

Black Friday looks to be full of free Android phones at Best Buy, including the Samsung Stratosphere in white. While a store offering “free” phones after you sign a two-year contract is nothing new, this years selection at Best Buy looks like some great hardware if you’re not the kind who has to have the latest new and shiny Android phone. Sprint customers can get a EVO Shift 4G free with their contract, Verizon customers can choose from a Droid Incredible 2 or a Samsung Stratosphere (both in white or black), and AT&T subscribers can choose from a Thrill 4G, an Atrix 2, or (if your a masochist) the BlackBerry Torch 9810.

HTC has made the Gingerbread kernel source for the EVO Shift 4G, HTC Thunderbolt, and Droid Incredible available for download on their developer center website. As always, unless you’re a kernel developer or ROM chef, this won’t do too much for you — other than build anticipation for the awesome new flashables that will be coming soon for these three.

HTC took to its Facebook page today to announce the good news that the ThunderBolt and Droid Incredible will finally be receiving their Android 2.3 Gingerbread updates in September. No word yet on exactly which version of Gingerbread they’re getting — we’re hoping it’s Android 2.3.4 — or whether video chat will work, or whether it means anything for unlocking their bootloaders. But this is certainly a day of celebration if you own either of these devices. You may now take 5 minutes for a Snoopy dance.

Pictures of what appears to be the HTC Vigor have been leaked out, giving another good look at the phone. While the specs are all still a rumor, we can see a dual LED flash and a front facing camera on the big screen, as well as a rubberized version of the Droid Incredible’s stepped back plate. Of course the phone will run HTC Sense, and we assume it will be version 3. The two biggest questions — will it have an LTE radio, and when will we see it, are still officially unanswered. With the rumored specs of a 1.5GHz dual-core Cortex A8 and a full gig of RAM, knowing that this one should be headed to Verizon soon will help relieve a little of the sting of not getting the Galaxy S II. We can’t wait to see it. Hit the jump for another pic.
