According to WPCentral, Dell will not launch any new Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango) smartphones. Dell was planning to release a device called “Wrigley” according to earlier reports, which was supposed to be quite similar to the Venue Pro. WPCentral said it has confirmed with “a higher up” within the company that the Wrigley is no longer in the pipeline. The report goes on to state that Dell is considering new devices for the next version of Windows Phone, ode-named Apollo, but no decisions have been made. “We have not made any announcements confirming that Mango or Windows Phone devices are no longer in the pipeline,” a Dell spokesperson told BGR when asked to comment on the claims. “Dell is committed to providing the best mobility solutions, regardless of the operating system, to our global customers.”

According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, Dell is ready to readdress the luxury notebook market with a new ultra-thin offering to take on Apple’s MacBook Air. Dell launched its sleek Adamo line in March 2009 and its first model was an underpowered, over-designed offering that started at $2,000. Dell would later introduce less expensive Adamo laptops but consumers still wouldn’t bite, and the Adamo line was killed off in early 2011. On Tuesday, Dell will unveil its latest attempt to capture the hearts, minds and credit card numbers of prospective MacBook Air buyers with the slender XPS 15z. The new laptop will sport a price tag that starts at $999, and while Apple’s MacBook Air starts at $999 as well, that sum will only get you an 11-inch Air while Dell’s new notebook will apparently be the thinnest 15-inch laptop on the planet. Hit the break for a teaser video Dell ran earlier this month.

Android will become the king of the tablet market, stripping the coveted title from Apple’s iPad, according to Dell founder and CEO Michael Dell. The claim appears in an interview in today’s Wall Street Journal, in which Dell traces the meteoric rise of Android over the past 18 months and predicts that the platform’s entrance into the tablet market will achieve similar success. Though Dell can’t be considered completely objective (See: Dell Streak and Dell Streak 7) it is reassuring to see some confidence from the CEO of one of the largest computer manufacturers in the world.

We’ve been talking in the forums about specs for the rumored Dell Streak Pro — the 10-inch tablet that’s coming — and now we’ve got the pic to back it up. So what you’re looking at is a 10-inch tablet at 1280×800 resolution (that’s normal for that size), running Honeycomb. No surprises there. Also mentioned is the newer Tegra T25 processor. Noyce. It’ll be “data only,” meaning don’t expect to do voice calls on this thing, unless it’s VOIP. And to that end it’s got a pair of microphones for video chat.
