Are you a fan of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play, but not so much a fan of it only being a 3G device on Verizon? You might well soon get to have the best of both words, if this internal traning registration is on the level. We’re told the Dec. 12 and Dec. 14 training indeed is for Big Red, and we’ve confirmed with a second source that indeed an LTE Xperia Play exists.

We’re still firmly filing this one in the “unconfirmed” category, but the screen you see above supposedly is a “work in progress” of what’s about to go out to Verizon stores. And it pretty much looks like we could be looking at a Nov. 17 availability (and Nov. 15 in-store marketing) for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which would bring Big Red in line with the rest of the world.

With all the Galaxy Nexus talk, it’s easy to forget that the Motorola Droid RAZR (check out our hands-on) will go up for pre-orders in just a few days. Verizon hasn’t forgotten, and the RAZR is sitting pretty in the equipment infocenter so that everyone at Big Red can be ready to answer your questions about this new Motobeast. With great specs (dual-core 1.2GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, Gorilla Glass and Super AMOLED up front while Kevlar adorns the back), and a sleek thin profile, this is the Android phone to get for many of you. I couldn’t blame ya — it’s gorgeous, and it’s coming soon.

If you’ve watched last night’s Galaxy Nexus and Ice Cream Sandwich unveiling, you’ll recall the sequence where the phone was hooked up to a camera rig and used to capture some impressive-looking time-lapse videos. Now, some behind-the-scenes photos of the rig, uploaded by Google’s Romain Guy, have given us our best indication yet that Big Red will indeed be getting an LTE version of the upcoming Nexus. Yep, that’s Verizon’s 4G LTE logo on the battery door.

We just got slipped a little internal memo, purportedly from Big Red, catching up on some Verizon supply and end-of-life news. Here’s the breakdown:

Well, will you look at that. More than seven months after we first got our hands on the Verizon-branded HTC Merge, it’s finally headed to Verizon. But according to this screen shot we just got, it’s only going to be available through third-party distribution, so don’t look for it in a Big Red store.

The Casio Commando will be launching April 28 on Verizon according to these leaked documents provided by an avid reader. Just because Verizon isn’t talking about the Commando doesn’t mean we haven’t heard of it and seen it before, and even seen it’s supposed due date come and go in a leaked Big Red roadmap. We also have some specs for the Commando thanks to both the internal and external comparison sheets (after the break), and while they aren’t spectacular, the ruggedness sort of makes up for it. Yes, the Commando lives up to it’s name, carrying the 810G Military Specification — making it one tough phone. The rest of the specs:
