During the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Best Buy announced that it will reorganize part of its business to focus on sales of connected devices such as tablets, smartphones and computers. Best Buy has created a new retail “connectivity business group,” Forbes said Friday, that will sell the aforementioned devices in Best Buy Mobile and Best Buy retail stores with 3G and 4G wireless service plans. Forbes explained that the connectivity business group (CBG) is similar to Best Buy Mobile but incorporates more devices and will include 15,000 employees from Best Buy Mobile and another 20,000 from Best Buy retail stores who previously worked to sell tablets and computers. Consumers likely won’t see any form of CBG branding and the changes will mostly affect Best Buy’s training practices for its Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores. Both stores will sell the products and Best Buy Mobile will likely begin offering connected laptops and tablets in addition to its current smartphone catalog.

Pictures of the Motorola Droid 4 have been around for as long as late October, so we’re really not surprised to see more of them popping up. And now Technobuffalo has quite the new crop — or, rather, a new crop of pictures of a non-working dummy phone. Not a whole lot there we haven’t seen 13 different ways already — most recently on Best Buy’s website. Now all we need is some sort of official announcement, perhaps.

Verizon Wireless still hasn’t officially announced the Motorola DROID 4, but it has been leaked several times during the past few months. Best Buy recently spilled the beans yet again in one of its Reward Zone advertisements. While it doesn’t specifically name the phone, the DROID 4 makes an appearance front and center in the ad. The Android 2.3.5-powered DROID 4 is expected to be very similar to a DROID RAZR, but with a full QWERTY keyboard. Rumored specs include a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, support for Verizon Wireless’s 4G LTE network and a 4-inch qHD display. Verizon might be saving an announcement for CES, which kicks off in less than two weeks.

Best Buy’s stellar track record with Android images continues, with the Motorola Droid 4 making an appearance on the Best Buy Mobile Solutions Reward Zone section. That’d be the still-unannounced (and, hell, not even guaranteed to be released) Motorola Droid 4. That’d be the Droid 4 that looks like a Droid RAZR with a keyboard. Whoops.

Verizon Wireless’s upcoming Samsung Galaxy Nexus handset may launch at Best Buy on December 11th. Engadget has obtained what is purportedly an image of Best Buy’s internal inventory system, which shows the 11th as the in-stock date for Samsung’s new Galaxy Nexus. Recent rumors suggested that Verizon plans to launch the phone on December 8th alongside the Motorola DROID 4, and that still may be the case — Verizon’s retailer partners may have to wait a few extra days for their initial shipments. We reviewed the Galaxy Nexus last month and called it the best Android phone to date. The Verizon Wireless version of the handset is nearly identical to the international version we reviewed, but it is slightly thicker and it includes support for Verizon’s LTE network.

Seriously, folks, you didn’t actually think there was some other version of the Galaxy Nexus that was to be released as the Nexus Prime, did you? Best Buy’s issued a correction about the December Buyer’s Guide and, sure enough, the world has returned to normal and the Galaxy Nexus is the Galaxy Nexus, not the Samsung Nexus Prime 4G LTE.

Once again we see Best Buy using the name Nexus Prime, this time it’s on the new product page live on Best Buy’s section of the Shop Local website as of tonight. Even more interesting is the fact that the $299 price point is good starting today (Nov. 27), with a 2-year agreement of course. While we don’t know if this name is going to stick, and no date is official until we hear it from Verizon, any news that shows this phone is close to a release is good news. Another best buy snafu, or something nobody expects? We’re not sure what to think any more. Hit the link to have a look, and discuss more in the forums.

As certain as we are that a lot of folks are out there taking advantage of all the sales happening right now on tablets for holidays — we’re also certain some will be keeping their money in their pockets just a little bit longer to hold out for the ASUS Transformer Prime.
