Three UK is the first British network to announce that it’ll be carrying the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus, which has just been unveiled at the Samsung Unpacked event in Hong Kong.

The device will run on Three’s HSPA+ network, which it aims to have rolled out to 80% of the country by the end of 2011. No other UK carriers have announced the availability of the Galaxy Nexus just yet, so it’s unknown at this stage whetheror not the phone will be exclusive to Three in the UK, and if so, for how long.

We’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, the full presser’s after the jump.

The new Samsung Galaxy Nexus brings together the best android software from Google and the best hardware from Samsung.

Android fans will be delighted to know that the Galaxy Nexus will be the first and only device in the UK this year to launch with the very latest Android OS, Ice Cream Sandwich. It is ‘Pure Google’ software meaning a new and enhanced android experience including full integration with the new Google+ social network.

The Galaxy Nexus is also the first to receive a true 4.65” HD resolution screen (1280×720) with Samsung’s new HD super AMOLED technology. This allows for stunning video playback, HD gaming and vibrant pictures. HD super AMOLED means that your content is visible outside even in the brightest of conditions and has amazing viewing angles.

With a 1.2Ghz dual core processor delivering superfast graphics and increased power efficiency, slim line design, front and rear cameras, this metallic silver device is set to impress. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus also supports HSPA+ and RX diversity, so when Three’s HSPA+ network upgrade is completed at the end of the year, using the internet on the phone will be even quicker.

Sylvia Chind, head of handsets at Three said, “At Three we love firsts, so we’re excited to be bringing our customers the first Android Ice Cream Sandwich phone. It’s also great to add another HSPA+ enabled device to our range, which will see the Samsung Galaxy Nexus’ features be brought to life with Three’s award-winning HSPA+ enabled network.”
