We’ve finally reached the weekend and for those of you not headed out to Texas for the Big Android BBQ, we’ve got plenty of content for you to catch up on both here and in the Android Central forums.

The last Google Goggles update brought the ability to scan images and search for things within those images on Google - the problem though, was the fact it only worked within Google Googles application and not the built-in camera app. The latest update rolled out today changes that and adds barcode services as well so that when you scan a barcode, the appropriate action is taken — such as opening a url or sending a text message. Minor update overall but an update nonetheless. You’ll find the download link past the break for you all.

Whether someone who is always flying around the country, like our very own Phil Nickinson, or just a casual traveler, we all know the pain that is had when searching for and comparing flights. Google hopes to make things easier for us with their latest application OnTheFly. The application allows users to compare flight costs, view an intuitive calendar which compares pricing for 30 days around your trip, and you can also view previous searches so you can keep an eye on pricing. While it does not allow you to book a trip through the application currently, you can price shop, and easily determine which deal is the best. Download links available after the break.

Hit the break for some more images along with the videos.

We love to think that once we set a pattern lock — or any sort of lock — on our beloved Android device that our information is safe, right? Well, the guys at BGR noticed that the information on the upcoming AT&T version of the Samsung Galaxy S II isn’t so safe behind a once trusted pattern lock, and that it can quite simply be bypassed.

With the native app, you’ll be able to share photos with your check-ins, use the notification center to keep track of what and where your friends are drinking, and it’s all done in an easy to navigate way.
